This turned out to be a very beautiful and interesting rosary. As I've stated many times before, my rosaries seem to take on a life of their own once I start building them. I love this one. First of all the olivewood beads have a certificate of authenticity as to being olivewood from Jerusalem and explains where the wood comes from. The main beads are oval. The Our father beads are silver coin beads of the St. Benedict Medal double sided. The spaces are hematite. The middle section is a very special rectangle of olivewood, there is a St. Benedict imbedded in bottom corner but done so you can see sides of the medal. On this piece is the St. Benedict Prayer. The best part is the beautiful crucifix which is a new one I just found. It, too is olivewood, and very detailed and dainty looking. This rosary is very lightweight of course and has a hanging length of 23 inches. The middle section measures 1 1/2 x 1 inch. The loop would be like putting on a 32 inch necklace. This rosary is nice enough to enough put into a wall grouping of crosses.
